I'll Be There

I cannot see letting Congress go into session next week without letting the powers that be know just how seriously I take making my voice be heard. Sending an email from my home does not express for me the anger I feel about how all working people are be treated in this serious crisis. I encourage others to join with me to make a strong statement so we cannot be ignored.

When I retired from American Axle in 2005 after 33 years I was 57 years old and thinking: make way for a younger worker. I joked that I wanted to get my pension before it disappeared but I did not anticipate the bankruptcy of Delphi which followed months later, nor the cascading events that occurred since then including the militant, but devastating American Axle I actively supported. The divisions caused by two tier wages, between parts workers and assembly workers, between young people working and retirees, between union and non-union in order to attack our right to a decent lives are unacceptable to me.
